ensaffhaidarHere is a great column in The Guardian by Ensaf Haidar, the wife of Raif Badawi who is jailed and sentenced to 1,000 lashes by the Saudi government for “insulting Islam.”

She writes about her reactions to hearing that her husband would soon receive his first installment of lashes in front of a mosque in Jeddah. We also learn about how she dealt with telling her children of the news and how their school provided important support to the family.
